Node-runner Subsidies - Last two payments

IMPORTANT UPDATE

The FND as informed the RAC that the request is accepted and they will proceed with the next two payments, as per our request and help us out with this.
*********************************************************************

As we all should remember and I have been refreshed on yesterday from some of our good node-runner community members, we still don’t have a working DAO entity to handle the last two payments that are planned for node-runner subsidies!

Since the entity still does not exist, it cannot ensure nor execute the payments, as was initially intended.
As such, we need an alternative.

To make it simple and short, the only truly effective alternative, that can guarantee the payments in good timing and as technically sound and verifiable as they have so far been, is FND itself.
Any other alternative will be harder to implement, still require the funds to come from FND, and will necessarily take longer to be ready and available to execute.

This topic, therefore, as only one purpose: to ask the FND to kindly do the remaining two payments that were planned, corresponding to the months of April and May, to be carried out in May and June, accordingly to the process that was used up to last payment and with the rules and amounts previously agreed between the community and FND upon the winding down plan of the subsidies.

Please comment and show your support for the request (or disagreement with it, if that’s the case) so we can use this topic as a formal request to FND to enable and execute said payments.

@Adam_XRD tagging you, despite your soon-to-be ended function, since Andy Jarret doesn’t seem to have a working account in here.

The community’s response to this topic will, hopefully, be clear and can be taken by the FND as a formal request for those payments of node-runner subsidies to be made by FND, given the still absence of a DAO entity to properly handle them, as initially intended.

Yes, I absolutely support this proposal of having FND do the remaining two validator subsidy payments.
I am aware of the implication that the FND can’t shut down before completing these payments.

I strongly believe this is worth it because abruptly cutting the promised subsidies would come with a large risk to network liveness. If too many validators quit in a short timeframe, it could lead to a network halt which would be very hard to recover from. The consequences for Radix as a whole would be disastrous.

Taking into consideration the time that it’s taking for the DAO to be stablished, I don’t think this two payments could be a reason for FND not shutting down anyways. Two months is approximately what it will take, I believe.

Yeah I agree. DAO transition will most likely delay FND shutdown beyond the final payment anyway. However, I would support the proposal even if it caused a net delay to FND shutdown.
